Has anybody noticed the new CCTV cameras that have been installed at Bedford Bus Station? They are located between the chip shop and the Inspectors office on the concourse. I wonder who paid for these five cameras to be installed?

These will be particularly useful if the Borough Council's plans for late evening Town Services come to pass and may help to allay Simon's concerns about security.

I wonder as to where the monitors are to record any offences/unruly behaviour that takes place? Are they located at the bus station or at the Police Station over the road. I presume that they record 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 52 weeks a year? And who paid for them?

Even though these cameras are in place they still seem incapable of catching people who continue to smoke within the confines of the seated area of the bus station which is, after all, a no smoking zone.
